Cup Regatta 2024 - Entries and Ticketing Now Open!

The marquee event on the Australian Wooden Boat racing calendar ready to go!

After being revitalised in 2023, The Cup Regatta, organised by the Classic Yacht Association of Australia, is now looking to expand its reach, with a goal of having 50+ boats racing on the waters of Port Phillip on the first weekend of November.

There are plenty of reasons to attend. And it’s not just about the racing. It’s about the community and the shared values of wooden boat custodianship. Boats that only cruise, and wooden motor boats are welcome to join the party.

Obviously the northern Port Phillip fleet will make up the core of the entries; With designs from the great Americans (Stephens, Rhodes and Herreshoff), the Europeans (Reimers, Rassmussen and Giles) a couple of Kiwis (Robb and Wright )and of course the Australian contingent led by the designs of Peel and Lexcen.

In addition to these regulars this year we are hoping for a fleet of Couta boats to make the 30nm trip up from Sorrento for a taste of racing with a backdrop of the spectacular Melbourne city skyline. We have allocated the Coutas their own Division along side Melbourne’s famous Tumlaren fleet and Two divisions for the other keelboats.

They will be made welcome at The Royal Yacht Club of Victoria with free berthing and access to the hospitality of Victoria’s Oldest Yacht Club.

And with the Australian Wooden Boat Festival taking place a few weeks later, it’s the perfect opportunity of boats from other mainland states to break their journey to Hobart,  with a few days racing and socialising in the seaport of Williamstown.

So Entries and Social Ticketing are now open. Places are limited so get in early via;
