Work or Leisure?

A couple of interesting emails found their way into my inbox this week. They reminded me, that although for most of us our contact with the wooden boat world is purely recreational, there is also a huge industry out there, often hidden away behind closed doors, in some shed in the back blocks or up a creek that no one has heard of, that relies on these craft not just for pleasure but for income.

Here’s a selection of three vastly different jobs that piqued my interest. Even if they aren’t actually in your skillset, its hard not to dream of what life might be like if a connection with timber craft meant that money was coming into the bank account, not just leaving it.
